Update Update Update

Hello!  I have a blog and I forgot all about it.  We've had a busy month around these parts.

I finally left the midwest!  I got on a plane for the first time in three years and went to visit my friend in Maine.  Traveling on crutches was kind of a pain in the ass, but people were very helpful and I made it.  We had a great visit except for me contracting salmonella poisoning from a cheeseburger on the very last night.  I was sick for a week and honestly doubt I'll ever eat a burger again because my stomach turns just thinking about it.

After Maine, I flew to New York for a top secret project.  I can't wait to be able to blog about it but for now, I'll just share this picture.

Pretty fancy schmancy, huh?  Stay tuned.  I also got to see my friend Audra in NYC.  She was one of my best buddies in college and I hadn't seen her in over a decade.  Then I met a new friend, someone who has been hunting down cancer fakers with me, for breakfast.  It was a short busy trip and I had a great time, despite feeling like crap.

Last week, I had a friend visit from Holland and my sisters and I took her downtown to take in the sights of Chicago.

THEN, my beautiful cousin Megan got married this past weekend and we had a blast at the wedding.

In exercise news, my hip is doing a lot better.  I am up to 2.5 miles on the treadmill, which feels like a miracle.  The pain level is much less and I'm very much hoping to toss my crutches for good sometime in the next two weeks.  Keep your fingers crossed because I am SICK OF THEM.  19 months is way too long to be hobbling around.

Oh yeah, I'm also down 25 pounds.  And I haven't had a Diet Coke in 18 days.  No big deal.

  1. Da-yum. Way to bury the lede! This should have been titled "End of World Approaches: Blogger Quits Diet Coke".

As much as I used to love diet coke (ok, lies, I still love diet coke), I'm a lot happier and more balanced without drinking it on the regular. Sad but true. Good luck with all your weight-losing and crutch-tossing. :)
